Real Presence Radio On The Air in Winona, Minn., and Harvey, N.D.

Posted on September 4, 2020 by Jon Ellis

The Catholic network “Real Presence Radio” is back on the air in Harvey, N.D., and is also now on the air in Winona, Minn.

St. Mary’s University of Minnesota’s donation of KSMR/92.5 and K232CZ/94.3 (Winona) closed on Monday, Aug. 31. The stations are carrying the network in a simulcast with KQAQ/970 (Austin).

K232CZ is in the rare circumstance of actually having a larger coverage area than its originating station. KSMR transmits with just 4 Watts from the St. Mary’s campus while K232CZ transmits with 104 Watts from downtown Winona.

Meanwhile, the network announced on the air Thursday that K217GL/91.3 (Harvey) signed on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 2. K217GL is the former K216DI/91.1, which was knocked off the air earlier this year by a fire at the business that had served as its former transmitter site. The translator upgraded from 50 Watts to 250 Watts with the frequency change.

K217GL provides the only strong FM signal to Harvey.
